THE BEST THINGS TO SEE AND DO

The Eternal City, as Rome is called, is indeed a treasure of a city. The architecture is grand, every corner is beautiful and there is a lot to see and do. Aside from the key tourist spots, Rome has an ineffable elegance– not only in architecture and design, but its people, too.

Yes, we should all see the famed tourist spots (Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, etc…), but wandering off the beaten tourist path will give you a sense of why this stately city was once the seat of world power. Surprisingly, you can see much of it in a short amount of time. Join us for our A Day Or Two in Rome Travel Guide and learn the best things to see and do.

“Rome is not like any other city. It’s a big museum, a living room that shall be crossed on one’s toes.”

-Alberto Sordi

FINAL THOUGHTS

Our Brenda Burdette Design A Day or Two in Rome guide is by far not an exhaustive list of things to do in Rome, but it certainly hits the hot spots. Another longer post is to come. In the meantime, if you are visiting other parts of Italy and need some help, go here.

After 3 years, a passion project of mine is finally coming to fruition! I can’t wait to share the details soon…. It focuses on serenity, peace, and filling your home with things that make you joyful.

Life asks so much from us— so our spaces should allow us to reflect, slow down, and relax. For me, that means natural light, room to move, meaningful objects, people that I love, and a sense that everything has a place.

Serenity doesn’t mean a home has to be perfect or empty, it just means that it brings you a sense of calm.

Good interior design is to a space what meditation is to the mind. 🤍

How to make a bedroom cozy, neutral, minimal, but also interesting? Layers and textures.

Here at the beautiful RH Newport Beach, stylists have expertly used a shimmering chandelier, reeded wood furniture, textural ceramics, and gold-gilded painting to add visual interest to a calm room.

Add soft bedding, stacks of cushy pillows and one long lumbar pillow in a contrasting color, it is the perfect place to begin and end each day.

My favorite part of the room is the dramatic mirror that reflects more light into the space… What’s your favorite thing about it?
