TRIED & TRUE HAIR GROWTH

If you have thyroid problems (or other medical conditions), you’ve probably encountered hair thinning from time to time. These are the Natural Remedies For Thick Hair that have helped me over the years.

NATURAL REMEDIES FOR THICK HAIR

BALANCE YOUR HORMONES

Making sure your hormones (thyroid and others) are balanced is the best place to start. Your doctor can test your levels and you can adjust with bioidentical hormones, if necessary.

COLLAGEN POWDER

The biggest improvement to my hair and nails came when I mixed collagen powder into my smoothie each day. My nails were hard as can be and didn’t chip. My hair was thick, healthy and grew very fast. I have tried quite a few powders and most taste horrible. My favorite has been Dr. Axe’s Collagen Powder.

BIOTIN

Biotin is one of the most popular hair growth remedies. According to Johns Hopkins Dr. Lisa Ishii, the supplement strengthens both hair and nails. 2000-5000 mcg is the recommended amount. You can also find biotin in egg yolks, oats, wheat germ, white mushrooms avocado, sweet potatoes and spinach.

INCREASE PROTEIN

According to experts at Harvard Medical School, not having adequate protein levels can contribute to hair loss. Meat, beans, eggs, almonds, oats, cottage cheese, and Greek yogurt are high in protein.

OMEGA 3

FLAXSEED OIL

ROSEMARY HAIR OIL

A Mixture of a carrier oil (olive oil, jojoba, avocado oil) and rosemary and lavender essential oils applied topically to thinning spots seems to help. I mix 2 tablespoons of carrier oil with 2 drops of rosemary and 2 drops of lavender oil. *Never put undiluted essential oils on your skin (they can burn you).

IRON TABLETS

I’ve noticed that when I’m anemic, hair can thin a bit. A boost of iron helps. (Always confirm your iron levels with your doctor before taking an iron supplement).

After 3 years, a passion project of mine is finally coming to fruition! I can’t wait to share the details soon…. It focuses on serenity, peace, and filling your home with things that make you joyful.

Life asks so much from us— so our spaces should allow us to reflect, slow down, and relax. For me, that means natural light, room to move, meaningful objects, people that I love, and a sense that everything has a place.

Serenity doesn’t mean a home has to be perfect or empty, it just means that it brings you a sense of calm.

Good interior design is to a space what meditation is to the mind. 🤍

How to make a bedroom cozy, neutral, minimal, but also interesting? Layers and textures.

Here at the beautiful RH Newport Beach, stylists have expertly used a shimmering chandelier, reeded wood furniture, textural ceramics, and gold-gilded painting to add visual interest to a calm room.

Add soft bedding, stacks of cushy pillows and one long lumbar pillow in a contrasting color, it is the perfect place to begin and end each day.

My favorite part of the room is the dramatic mirror that reflects more light into the space… What’s your favorite thing about it?
