SERENITY NOW

Finding peace is always a challenge, but during Covid-19, especially so. Here is a list of a few online yoga & meditation classes that we have tried, and know will bring that much-needed serenity.

YOGA VIDA

A New York-based studio that has been offering classes for 11 years. They increased their online presence immediately after Covid-19 and now offer online classes for all levels. Very reasonable. You can buy each class for $7 or register for a monthly unlimited membership. Go here for more information on Yoga Vida.

YOGA BY CANDACE

I found this YouTube yoga channel by chance when I needed a 30-minute, no frills class. I was pleasantly surprised to find a number of free YouTube videos that gave me exactly what I wanted– a good, fairly difficult flow class. You can find a variety of classes divided by level or body parts that you want to work. Candace also has a paid subscription program.

MEDITATION OASIS

This is a longtime meditation podcast that I have turned to time and again. They have meditations for everything from anxiety to pain to sleep. This is a simple podcast that you can listen to while you rest or are walking. Each meditation is between 10 and 45 minutes long. The podcast’s guided meditations are free while Covid-19 lasts.

After 3 years, a passion project of mine is finally coming to fruition! I can’t wait to share the details soon…. It focuses on serenity, peace, and filling your home with things that make you joyful.

Life asks so much from us— so our spaces should allow us to reflect, slow down, and relax. For me, that means natural light, room to move, meaningful objects, people that I love, and a sense that everything has a place.

Serenity doesn’t mean a home has to be perfect or empty, it just means that it brings you a sense of calm.

Good interior design is to a space what meditation is to the mind. 🤍

How to make a bedroom cozy, neutral, minimal, but also interesting? Layers and textures.

Here at the beautiful RH Newport Beach, stylists have expertly used a shimmering chandelier, reeded wood furniture, textural ceramics, and gold-gilded painting to add visual interest to a calm room.

Add soft bedding, stacks of cushy pillows and one long lumbar pillow in a contrasting color, it is the perfect place to begin and end each day.

My favorite part of the room is the dramatic mirror that reflects more light into the space… What’s your favorite thing about it?
